Associated hazards and risks

Deep discharge (< ~3.0 V/cell): leads to irreversible damage to the cells and the risk that the battery will no longer be usable.

Overcharge (> ~4.2 V/cell): risk of swelling, leakage, fire or explosion.

Excessive current (above C rating): if the replica demands more than the battery can deliver, it may overheat and be damaged.

Mechanical impact, perforation, impact: even a single strong impact/shock can compromise the case/cells → increased risk of chemical combustion.

Extreme temperatures:

above ~60 °C → risk of explosion or rapid degradation,

below 0 °C → poor performance, risk of battery degradation if charged at low temperatures.

Unattended charging: there is a major fire hazard if the battery is left unattended during charging; using a fireproof bag and supervising the process is recommended.

Safety recommendations

Use dedicated Li-Po chargers with balancing to keep all cells at the same voltage level and avoid local overcharging.

Disconnect the battery from the replica as soon as you finish using it, to avoid parasitic consumption and the risk of deep discharge.

Always charge under supervision and, ideally, in a fireproof bag (Li-Po bag).

Store at ~3.8 V/cell (≈ 50-60% capacity) if you are not going to use it for a long time, in a cool place, away from fire or heat sources.

Check the battery condition periodically: do not use swollen, damaged batteries or those that have a burning smell or visible signs of damage.
