Associated hazards and risks

Deep discharge (< ~ 3.0 V/cell): may irreversibly damage the battery, significantly reducing its capacity or making it unusable.

Overcharge (> ~ 4.2 V/cell): risk of swelling, gas generation, fire or explosion.

Discharge current above C rating (intensive use at currents above 30 C): may cause excessive heating, internal stress of cells, accelerated degradation.

Mechanical shocks, punctures, deformations: may compromise the casing or internal cells, leading to defects or fire hazards.

Extreme temperatures:

Above ~ 60 °C: increased risk of fire or explosion;

Below 0 °C: reduced performance, risk when charging if the battery is cold.

Unattended charging: without monitoring there is a risk of fire; it is recommended to use a fireproof bag and stay near the charger.

Improper storage: the battery is left fully charged for a long time, connected to the replica when not in use, or completely discharged, all of which significantly shorten the battery life and can lead to defects.

Safety recommendations

Use Li-Po chargers with balancing to ensure uniformity of voltages on each cell.

Disconnect the battery from the replica immediately after use to avoid parasitic consumption and unnecessary discharge.

Charge the battery on a non-flammable surface, ideally in a fireproof Li-Po bag, and monitor the charging process; do not leave the battery unattended.

Store it at storage voltage (~ 3.8 V per cell) if you will not use it for several days or more, in a cool place away from heat sources.

Check the condition of the battery periodically: if you notice signs such as swelling, deformation, strange odor or excessive heating, do not use it anymore.
