Associated Hazards and Risks

Deep discharge (< ~3.0 V/cell): irreversibly degrades the battery and can make it unusable.

Overcharge (> 4.2 V/cell): high risk of swelling, fire or explosion.

Excessive current discharge (above 25 C): can cause overheating and damage.

Impacts, punctures or mechanical deformations: can trigger violent chemical reactions or fire.

Extreme temperatures: above 60 °C – risk of explosion; below 0 °C – poor performance, risk when charging.

Unattended charging: there are cases of fires; recommended to charge only under supervision and in a fireproof bag (Li-Po bag)

Improper storage: being left connected to the replica or completely discharged can lead to damage. Ideally, it is stored at ~3.8 V/cell, in a cool place and away from fire, preferably in a fireproof bag.
